Located just five minutes from downtown Huntsville, Ontario, we are widely regarded as Canada's pioneer in cage-free pet care. Founder and owner Lisa Brooks, with over four decades of professional experience in the dog industry, shares, "I so appreciate the trust our clients place in us. In the late 1990s, Happy Tails was spotlighted on Canada AM with Valerie Pringle as a Muskoka Camp for Fur Kids. It was also featured in a syndicated Cottage Life TV program that aired across Canada and the U.S. several times a year. As a result, the name and concept of cage-free pet care—which we proudly pioneered in Huntsville—have gained widespread popularity across the industry.

Happy Tails offers a brand-new Resort Pavilion with underfloor heating, cozy fireplaces, orthopedic Kuranda beds, and a fully equipped grooming room. Our 25 acres of naturalized parkland include 17 fully-fenced dog parks, playgrounds, quiet zones, and a public dog park, along with ponds perfect for swimming and frog hunting. Expansive meadows and woodlands give dogs room to run and explore, offering something for every size, age, breed, and personality. Our services include daycare, resort overnights, long-term pet care, specialized care, grooming, and our popular public dog park.

We also provide a well-established door-to-door Pet Shuttle Service between Toronto/GTA and Muskoka, catering to clients seeking convenience and reliability. While we prefer to keep shuttle trips under three hours, we’ve traveled as far as Ottawa to bring pets to their Happy Tails retreat. Happy Tails is a guilt-free alternative to conventional boarding kennels, offering a truly unique pet accommodation experience that evolves constantly thanks to our dedicated, forward-thinking team.

Our outdoor spaces are designed for FUN—encompassing acres of cage-free, collar-free countryside living with secure fencing resistant to even the most determined diggers and jumpers. Dogs can run, play, and swim to their hearts' content in fresh country air. After a day of adventures, they return to their cozy rooms to rest, with access to water and outdoor areas at any time.
