Happy Tails Pet Resort & Camp has been known as 'Muskoka's Retreat for the Furry Elite' since 1996. Located just 5 minutes from downtown Huntsville, Ontario, our business is widely regarded as Canada's pioneer in cage-free pet care. Founder and Owner Lisa Brooks has spent over four decades as a professional in the dog industry and says, "I so appreciate the trust that our clients place in us. In the late 1990s, Happy Tails was spotlighted on Canada AM with Valerie Pringle as a Muskoka Camp for Fur Kids. It was also featured in a syndicated Cottage Life TV program shown several times a year throughout Canada and the US. Consequently, the name and the idea of cage-free pet care, which we did first in Huntsville, Ontario, has gained popularity across the industry.

Happy Tails has a brand new Resort Pavilion building with underfloor heating, dog bedrooms with orthopedic Kuranda beds and cosy fireplaces, a fully equipped grooming room, 17 fully-fenced dog parks, playgrounds, quiet zones and a public dog park situated on approximately 25 acres of naturalized parkland, including ponds for frog hunting and swimming. Extensive meadows and woodland offer ample room for dogs to run and explore. The Happy Tails experience has something for every size, age, breed and need. Our business provides numerous guest services and activities: Daycare, Resort Overnights, Long Term Pet Care, Specialized Care, Grooming and the public Dog Park.

We also offer a well-established door-to-door Pet Shuttle Service between Toronto /GTA and Muskoka. We prefer an under three-hour time frame for our shuttle service, but we have picked up as far away as Ottawa.

Happy Tails is your guilt-free alternative to conventional boarding kennels; a unique pet accommodation experience that is constantly improving and evolving thanks to a dedicated, forward-thinking team. Our dog lodges and cottages are accessible year-round and offer cosy fireplace lounges with individual open-concept rooms for naps. This year, our brand new Resort building with bedrooms for our One-Step-Up Guests and a fully equipped Grooming Room.

Outdoor space is focused on FUN – a true dog resort destination encompassing acres of cage-free, collar-free countryside living complete with extensive fencing that is resistant to your digging and/or jumping dog's best efforts. We offer fresh country air and the freedom to run, play or swim all day. When a busy, fun-filled day draws to a close, dogs return to their area to sleep and dream of another resort day tomorrow. Dogs are not locked in, so they can relieve themselves or get a drink at any time. Just as you like to escape to Muskoka from the stress of city life, so does your dog.
